The GREENPATHS project addresses the complex and multi-dimensional nature of the just transition. Drawing on an enhanced understanding of key issues, challenges and trends resulting from an in-depth review and synthesis of the latest and most relevant research, the project will enable the development and adoption of more coherent and effective policy strategies and instruments, furthering the positive outcomes and reducing the negative impacts on environmental sustainability and social well-being in Europe and the world.

The GREENPATHS mixed-method approach combines diverse academic disciplines and societal perspectives that will broaden and deepen previous and ongoing research efforts across Europe. The consortium will become the basis for the creation of (i) a permanent network of committed researchers, development practitioners and civil society campaigners, and (ii) a Knowledge Hub, which will contribute to the development of more inclusive and sustainable policy design and implementation.
