Objavljujemo poziv za prijave na desetu Zelenu akademiju – “The Future is Ours”!
Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Green Academy 2020 will take place in Komiža on the island of Vis, from August 21 to 26, as a cooperation between the Institute for Political Ecology, the Green European Foundation, the Open Society Initiative for Europe and the Heinrich Böll Foundation, with the financial support of the European Parliament to the Green European Foundation.
Under the title “The Future is Ours” we will focus on cities and municipalities as the real changemakers and terrains for progressive political change. We will explore transformative pathways, novel solutions and institutional practices that can ensure ecological sustainability, economy within planetary boundaries and just transition. The dynamic and interactive program composed of workshops, debates and lectures is designed to encourage us to dive deeper into the municipalist world and seek solutions that can be the driving force for political change at local level.
Working languages are Croatian and English.
We will be able to provide you with hotel accommodation and two meals per day (breakfast and dinner). Your travel costs can be reimbursed up to €250.
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, as organizers we have been meeting various challenges, so minor changes to the program can still occur. This call is published as a short-notice call, due to our estimation that we will be able to organize the event.
We offer support for maximum 12 places to participants from all over Europe:
- 3 – the Balkans, Russia, Georgia, Ukraine
- 3 – Central and Eastern Europe
- 3 – Southern Europe
- 3 – Western and Northern Europe
Given the short deadline, we ask for a short biography in English (no longer than 1 page) and a letter of interest (maximum 2000 characters) with two reference contacts (email and phone), desirably from people who have already participated in the Green Academy. Your applications should be sent to ipe[at]ipe.hr by August 18, 4:00 PM CET.
We reserve the right to cancel the event last-minute in case of a COVID-19 emergency. We therefore apply a NO REGRETS POLICY: travel can be reimbursed only after the event has taken place and once the travel documentation was provided to us (in accordance with the guidelines we will provide).
As organizers we will ensure basic epidemiological standards are met during the event, but also bear in mind the general COVID-19 guidelines that need to be respected outside and beyond the conference, for everybody’s safety and well-being.
We will inform all participants about the outcome by August 19.
